Our Director
As the founder of Shining Bright Nurturing Space, I was inspired to create a modern holistic space because it has always been my dream to create a nurturing space which nurtures the whole child. I am a homeschooling parent and have loved to watch my son develop over the past 15 years, finding his own unique interests in education and beyond. I have more than 20 years of experience working with young children as well as collegiate childcare credentials.

Philosophy
At Shining Bright Nurturing Space we are inspired to evolve and expand the holistic approach to nurturing children as their purpose and being is honored to develop naturally. Each child is a Divine being that thrives and develops in an environment that instills and honors helping others, love, peace, gratitude, deeper awareness of how we nurture ourselves internally and externally, discernment, free expression, respect for self, others, and the environment. Shining Bright Nurturing Space was founded by a homeschooling mama, entrepreneur, nature lover, who has been a holistic enthusiasts for more than 20+ years, Milinaire Davis. Her vision is to honor children's amazing innate awareness and abilities. As the school director, Milinaire was greatly inspired by her son's former preschool's family-led communal approach founded by Ms. Sudha Seetharaman creator of “Trilok School” in Brooklyn, New York. In her own school's philosophy, Sudha Seetharaman so meaningfully writes: "we believe in practicing the philosophy of respect and devotion to the earth and instilling a commitment to humanity as well as compassion for all living beings are vital to our existence in the world. We also encourage the expression of our feelings in constructive ways and resolving differences peacefully, using dialogue and mindful strategies of conflict resolution." This so closely fits in with our own belief system at Shining Bright Nurturing Space.

Location
Nestled in Manhattan, New York, Shining Bright values the uniqueness in our city’s diversity and incorporates various educational traditions and approaches to suit the needs of each child individually. Shining Bright seeks to nurture the whole child through exploratory and creative activities. Our daily rhythm consists of creative outlets of expression such as nature and community exploration, movement, arts and crafts, reading, creating plant based meals together, mindfulness, among many other things. This array of expression stimulates children’s minds toward academic studies such as reading, writing, math, science and social studies. Children will have outdoor time every day. I also have a wall-enclosed roof deck in my building easily accessible through the elevator. I believe outdoor time is essential in allowing children to get fresh air, recharge, and learn about connecting with their environment. We look forward to getting to know your family and your child's unique needs.
